I hope you are enjoying each cherished day of your terrifi life and spending quality time with family and friends. What makes YOU happy? I love to do things that make me feel like a kid again. When school lets out for the summer, it feels like time for me to get started summer vacation as well. Do you feel that way? I do not forget going to the pool, eating frozen candy bars, hanging out with my girlfriends and dreaming regarding what I wanted to do when I grew up. Even even though I don’t sun bathe anymore, I still eat the occasional (non-frozen) candy bar, hang with my women friends and still dream closely each day regarding my future. Some things never change. I recognise that finding my remainder and peace and joy are still tops on my to-do list. How is your joy level measuring up these days? Are you happy with your life and all it has to offer? If you are not sentiment joyful, do something regarding it right now. When you woke up this morning did you start out your day with thanks and appreciation for what you have and who you are? I just became a grandparent again for the 6th and 7th time, and all seven are granddaughters. What a blessing. They are identical twins but each is unambiguously particular with her own personality and temperament, and each already knows what makes her feel safe and secure. Remind yourself how special you are–and how unique–and that there is no one like you in the whole wide world. What gives you joy? Is it a place, a person, an experience or something that you may smell, taste, and touch? If you have forgotten a heap of of these things, fetch them to mind–a walk on the beach, your friend’s great sense of humor, or the taste of those great chocolate chip cookies hot out of the oven. Remember and close your eyes and now all those experiences are yours and no one may take them away. One of the guest writers I interviewed not so long ago told me she makes sure that each person she works with has a plan to be empowered and full of promise. She helps women know they have the capacity to fabricate the world they want and deserve. “Deserve” is an primary word that women need to understand. It means you have a right to have a life full of joy, happiness, and to feel safe and secure. You is worthy of joy in your life. If you can’t even do not forget what gives you pleasure, which galore women cannot, here are a heap of ideas to jump-start your search for joy. There’s a Zen-like gratification in doing necessary tasks with love and attention: cleaning, cooking, washing dishes, ironing (remember that?) and sewing. Exercise is always a mood builder. Have you tried jogging, weight machines, walking, aerobic dancing or workouts, stretching, yoga or weightlifting. Don’t you LOVE to eat? Try making feed for yourself and others by baking, barbecuing, preparing gourmet meals or just buying goods for food. Like to play games? Try bridge, board games, jigsaw puzzles, poker, Pinochle, Scrabble, crosswords or anagrams. Are you a scribbler? Try your hand at cartooning, drawing, lettering, painting, photography or silk screening. Crafty people get enjoyment from basket making, bookbinding, crocheting, embroidery, knitting, leather work, dressmaking and needlepoint. Laughing brings a rush of well-being, so try improvisation games, charades, telling jokes, doing practical jokes and pranks and punning. Get outside for birdwatching, gardening, crabbing, fishing, canoeing, sailing, hunting, walking, ice skating, skiing, rowing or hiking. If you prefer indoor performance, try dancing, mime, acting, storytelling or singing. Maybe working on your personal growth pumps you up. Try self-help books, workshops, lectures, learning new achievements or working on devising your career. Curl up with a book: fiction, non fiction, novels, plays or poems. Or vent your sensations (always a outstanding idea!): punch a pillow, yell, talk, write, express your good feelings. Socialize by conversing, attending or giving parties, watching movies, plays, sports or pageants. Take a kid to the circus! How when it comes to a sport? Did you receive pleasure from something as a child? There’s baseball, basketball, golf, gym, football, hockey, dancing, tennis, skating, running or volleyball. Expand your brain power by studying art, history, a language, math, music, science or the social sciences. Does your work fetch you joy? Expand your mind to new possibilities. How with regards to getting a bricklayer, builder, carpenter, doctor, foreman, factory worker, gardener, mechanic, machinist or police officer? You will never know how happy you may be until you find the things that fetch you joy. |
