Post apocalyptic fable shows promise, but is bogged down by wish-fulfilment.

What I like the most about this story is the ambition of its authors. In the space of this short story, they have attempted a number of technically challenging narrative devices, and if their success is only patchy, it is nonetheless to be applauded.

Real characters AND imaginative ideas!

I need two things to love a story. I need exciting, imaginative ideas… AND I need the substance of real characters with depth. I honestly don’t like most fantasy or scifi stories that I read. They tend to give me just the imaginative part and leave out the substance.
